Enzo Fernandez was among seven Chelsea players training at Cobham on Tuesday for the first time this summer.
The 25-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from the Blues this summer. Earlier in the transfer window, Fernandez made it clear to Chelsea that he wanted to depart Stamford Bridge before September's deadline and the Blues placed a £120million on his head.
Real Madrid publicly pulled out of the transfer saga last month but Manchester City retain an interest in the Argentina international. Either way, Chelsea sources are confident Fernandez will be playing his football in west London next season.
Fernandez was sent off in Argentina's World Cup final defeat to Spain last month and was allowed an extended break for his exploits in North America. As were the others spotted training in the Surrey sunshine on Tuesday, including new signings Valentin Barco, Jordan Henderson, Morgan Rogers and Maxence Lacroix.
Barco was training with his new teammates for the first time since sealing his move from Chelsea's sister club Strasbourg, while Henderson was out on the grass as he continues to be assessed after suffering a serious arm injury while on international duty with England at the World Cup.
Rogers, Henderson's international colleague, was pictured putting in the hard yards as he looks to be in peak condition in time for Chelsea's Premier League opener away at Fulham on August 24. Lacroix was also working at the club's training base following his £52m move from Crystal Palace in late-July.
Pep Chavarria was nowhere to be seen in the photos released by the club as we continue to await official confirmation of his arrival from Rayo Vallecano. Malo Gusto and Reece James were also in Cobham for the first day back, less than a fortnight before Chelsea's trip to Craven Cottage after they represented France and England, respectively, in the World Cup.
