Arsenal have reportedly offered Myles Lewis-Skelly to Chelsea as Mikel Arteta faces a major decision over the academy graduate following Bruno Guimaraes’ £75million arrival.
Lewis-Skelly established himself as an important member of Arteta’s squad last season, but competition for places has increased significantly over the summer.
The Times reports that Chelsea have now been offered the opportunity to sign the 19-year-old. Arsenal are said to value Lewis-Skelly at around £60million.
Manchester United have also previously been made aware of his availability, although the Times claims they were reluctant to meet Arsenal’s valuation. The Guardian has separately reported that United were offered Lewis-Skelly and that Chelsea have been informed of his situation.

Guimaraes’ arrival has made Arsenal’s midfield increasingly crowded.
Arteta can already call upon Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi, Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino and Guimaraes, while Lewis-Skelly has made clear that he sees his long-term position in midfield rather than at left-back.
ReadArsenal has already highlighted how that increased competition could affect Arsenal’s midfield options, with Martin Zubimendi also attracting fresh interest from Real Madrid.
Selling Lewis-Skelly would nevertheless represent a significant decision.
The England international came through Arsenal’s Hale End academy and became an increasingly important first-team player last season. As an academy graduate, any substantial transfer fee would also be particularly valuable from a financial accounting perspective.
Chelsea’s interest has not yet developed into a bid, and being offered the chance to sign a player does not guarantee a transfer will happen.
The report does, however, suggest Arsenal are prepared to consider a departure if their valuation is met.
For a player who looked capable of becoming part of Arsenal’s long-term core only months ago, it is a major change in circumstances.
