The Baltimore Ravens are waiting for more information, but it appears Nate Wiggins sustained a scary injury during practice at Tuesday's training camp. The incident happened while the soon-to-be three-year veteran was participating in wide receiver-cornerback 1-on-1 drills.
Reports indicate that the 22-year-old defensive back appeared to have suffered a left knee injury, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN. It's said that Wiggins was unable to put weight on his left leg and was in visible pain before being carted off the field.
“Ravens CB Nate Wiggins was carted off the field an hour into Tuesday's practice after suffering what looked to be a left leg/knee injury,” Hensley reported. “The 2024 first-round pick couldn't put any weight on his left leg when heading into the team facility. He had his arms draped over trainers to go inside.
“Wiggins, Baltimore's top corner, was injured during one-on-one drills with WR Ja'Kobi Lane,” Hensley continued. “He got his feet tangled with Lane while covering a go route and fell hard to the ground. Trainers looked at the left leg and knee of Wiggins, who was in visible pain. He is the first player to be carted off in this year's training camp.

“Wiggins is one of the players that the Ravens can least afford to lose. The other experienced CBs on the roster are Marlon Humphrey, Chidobe Awuzie and T.J. Tampa. If Wiggins has to miss any time, Awuzie would likely replace Wiggins and start opposite Humphrey,” Hensley finished.
When Jesse Minter was asked about the injury, the Ravens' new head coach admitted he does not have all of the information quite yet, per Hensley. However, Minter did claim there is some optimism in the facility. But overall, Baltimore is waiting for more details.
“Jesse Minter on Nate Wiggins: ‘I don't have a ton of information yet.' Minter added, ‘I think there's optimism.' Wiggins was carted off at practice with what looked like a left leg/knee injury,” Hensley reported. “Minter said he has no timetable [for] Wiggins.”
The former Clemson Tigers star emerged as a No. 1 cornerback for the Ravens last year. He played all 17 games in the regular season, recording 76 combined tackles (57 solo), three interceptions, and 14 pass deflections.
