Man United handed boost in pursuit of Premier League star after Fabrizio Romano update

Manchester United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye after he turned down a move to the Saudi Pro League (SPL).

United have been linked with Ndiaye as a potential option on the left wing.

Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano claims that the Senegal international has rejected an approach from SPL side Al Hilal, opting to remain in the Premier League.

United still unlikely to sign Ndiaye

Ndiaye enjoyed a decent campaign last term, scoring six goals and providing three assists in 34 games across all competitions.

His nine league goal involvements were the third-highest among Everton players, while he led the squad for total shots and shots on target per game, highlighting his directness.

Ndiaye created seven big chances, ranking only behind James Garner and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall among the Toffees players.

The 26-year-old can play anywhere across the frontline, making him a viable squad option, although he is more comfortable on the left flank.

That said, United are currently not expected to make a move for the Everton winger following Marcus Rashford’s return to the squad.

The England international has joined the rest of the squad for pre-season training and is reportedly excited about the opportunity to work with manager Michael Carrick.

Carrick was still playing for the Red Devils when Rashford broke into the first team, establishing a connection between the pair.

United are better off keeping Rashford rather than signing Ndiaye, as the former offers a greater attacking threat and greater consistency.

If Carrick can get the best out of the Englishman, he could be one of United’s most decisive players next season.
