The summer deadline is just three weeks away, and if the window ended now, Chelsea fans would be more than satisfied with the club’s incoming signings. But Chelsea want more.
A total of 11 new signings have arrived at Stamford Bridge this summer. Some were pre-arranged, the likes of Denner, Valentin Barco, and Emmanuel Emegha. Six more have joined after Alonso arrived.
Jordan Henderson, Morgan Rogers, and Maxence Lacroix are among the six new signings made by the Chelsea boss, with Pep Chavarria due to be announced. Marco Palestra and Danny Welbeck, as well.
But the Blues aren’t done there. Focus has switched to outgoings and finding new clubs for a handful of fringe players at Stamford Bridge, but it would not come as a shock if Chelsea re-entered the market.
On Tuesday, reports that Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly had been offered to Chelsea emerged. The Gunners are open to his sale, with the signing of Bruno Guimaraes has pushed him down the order.

Also able to play left-back and in central midfield like Valentin Barco, Lewis-Skelly finds himself behind Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie on the left of defence. He needs an exit to get regular minutes.

Following the initial reports, it was claimed that Arsenal were not open to selling Lewis-Skelly to Chelsea. They did not want to do a deal with a local rival, a side Arsenal believe are in the running for top places.
Now, a report from BBC Sport’s Alex Howell states that the 19-year-old does not want to leave Arsenal, and is ready to fight for his place under Mikel Arteta. He has a contract with the Gunners until June 2030.
How much do Arsenal want for Myles Lewis-Skelly?
Arsenal have just splashed a £75m fee on Newcastle skipper Guimaraes. A huge fee for a player already in his prime, and a third major sale made by the Toon after Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali this summer.
The Gunners are keen to recoup as much as they can of the £75m fee, and Lewis-Skelly represents pure profit for Arteta’s side given he is a homegrown product. The Guardian say Arsenal rate him at £45m.
In this market, that represents decent business for a teenage England international who has proven he is easily good enough for the Premier League, and can play in more than one position at the top level.
However, there is only so much convincing Chelsea can do. They have no European football to offer, and probably cannot offer Lewis-Skelly a starting spot. Now, it has emerged he wants to stay at Arsenal.
