**3\. One of the greatest duos in NFL history connected early and often on Tuesday.**
The legendary combination of quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce was in full force on Tuesday as the historic duo linked up for multiple completions during 7-on-7 drills, including a beautiful throw-and-catch over the middle of the field.
This marks the ninth training camp for Mahomes and Kelce as starters together, and while each player has reached the pinnacle in terms of accomplishments, they're still working to refine their respective crafts in St. Joseph.
**4\. The Chiefs were in pads for the seventh time in nine days.**
Kansas City is in the midst of a grueling stretch that has the players in pads for a total of eight practices in just 10 days.
The Chiefs took one step closer to completing that span of practices on Tuesday with their second padded practice in a row, and while this portion of camp is truly a grind, the players often point to stretches like this as the kindling that prepared them for a long football season.
Tuesday's practice, in particular, included multiple 11-on-11 periods, a 7-on-7 segment and yet another "long drive drill." The "long drive drill" segment, which simulates the play-to-play nature of an actual game, challenged the starters on both sides of the ball with 15 consecutive plays without a break.
Kansas City will compete in another padded practice on Wednesday before engaging in a lighter practice on Thursday ahead of the preseason opener this weekend.
