Packers Make Big Jordan Love Announcement - What We Know 1
The Green Bay Packers made it clear that Jordan Love is their franchise quarterback when they signed him to a $200 million contract. The 27-year-old quarterback is entering his fourth year as the starting quarterback in Green Bay. To this point he’s thrown for over 12,500 yards and 92 touchdowns (playoffs and regular season combined).
Going into the 2026 season, it looks like they’re going to get their veteran quarterback as many reps as possible.

Packers’ Jordan Love To Play In Pre-Season
Thursday marks the Green Bay Packers’ first preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has revealed what quarterback Josh Love is expected to play for the team’s first game. He’s playing.
“It’s pretty fluid in regards to how many snaps. But I do think there’s a lot of value for all our guys to get mentally prepared to go play a game,” LaFleur said, per Packers reporter Jason Hirschhorn.
It is expected that Love will have an opportunity to work with his primary targets during the team’s preseason game.
“Matthew Golden and Jayden Reed returned to practice on Tuesday. That would put them in position to get some work with Jordan Love during the preseason opener,” Hirschhorn posted to X, formerly Twitter.
On Packers Family Night (at training camp) Love and Golden connected on a huge play. In that practice, LaFleur said the Packers made a lot of mistakes. Love still connected with Golden to score a long touchdown.

“I feel like the chemistry between us is growing for sure,” Golden said of his connection with Love, per the team.
As they prepare for their clash with the Steelers, LaFleur believes they have a lot to work on.
“You’d love to have those guys every day out at practice because I think some of this stuff can be avoidable,” LaFleur said. “But it’s a lot of good stuff for our guys to look at and learn from and to teach off of.”
Love threw for 3,381 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2025. Going into 2026, he has expressed excitement about his offense.
