Manchester City played three games in Asia over the past two weeks as they get to grips with what Enzo Maresca wants from them. The new manager put the players through their paces in training and then waited to see how much of that would come through in friendlies with Inter, K-League All Stars and Atletico.
It was a young squad who travelled given many of City's players have been away at the World Cup. Seven of the biggest stars did not travel at all after going all the way to the final weekened in the United States with their national teams.
Despite that, there was plenty of progress to see from a team that grew across Hong Kong and Korea as they listened to Maresca. From senior players to promising youngsters, a total of 26 got some minutes on the tour.
