**Arsenal transfer target Christian Kofane says he can “imagine” himself playing in the Premier League.**
The Gunners have been linked with the Cameroon international, along with several other teams, and asked by _Kicker_ (quotes translated by _[The Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/arsenal-fc-transfer-news-arteta-kofane-b1292977.html)_) about moving to English football, he replied:
“I can certainly imagine it, yes. It’s one of the best leagues in the world, but I want to take it step by step. I’m young and still have big plans with Bayer Leverkusen.”
“Bayer Leverkusen a great club that has given me a great opportunity and a lot of confidence. I feel very comfortable here.”
Arsenal have contacted Kofane’s agent

Speaking back in April after Mikel Arteta’s side played against Leverkusen in the Champions League, the 20-year-old’s representative Eric Depolo said:
“There is contact between me and Arsenal. But their focus right now is to win the league – from there everything will start moving. He is a €100million (£85m) player. With Kofane, Arsenal will have a top striker for the next ten years.”
Other Premier League teams have also been [**credited with an interest**](https://goonernews.com/blog/arsenal-transfer-news-christian-kofane/) in Kofane, including Brentford, Everton, Chelsea, and Newcastle United. Barcelona and Bayern Munich have been mentioned as potential suitors as well.
Kofane is not a top target

Despite having made enquiries about the striker, it is believed that manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta are seeking someone with a more proven track record to strengthen the front line this summer.
The Gunners have already missed out on Morgan Rogers and Vinicius Jr, but the Premier League champions have also explored moves for Bradley Barcola, Julian Alvarez and Kenan Yildiz.
It does appear as if Arteta and Berta have yet to make a final decision on which player they will pursue before the transfer window closes, but it is unlikely to be Kofane.
