Cesc Fabregas will return to the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, but not to replace Mikel Arteta in the hot seat. The former Gunners midfielder brings his Como side for a pre-season friendly.
Fabregas had been touted to replace his fellow Spaniard in north London previously, but he is now focused on taking Como through their first-ever Champions League campaign. The 39-year-old joined Arsenal in 2003, leaving Barcelona's youth academy to kickstart his Premier League career.
Across eight seasons, Fabregas scored 57 goals and assisted 97 times in 303 appearances for the Gunners. He won the FA Cup and Community Shield, while also coming runner-up in the League Cup and Champions League.
Here, football.london delves into some of the biggest talking points surrounding Fabregas, including a potential return to Arsenal to succeed Arteta.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Fabregas is estimated to have a wealth of around £34million ($45m). This has been amassed throughout his lengthy playing career, during which he played for Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, Monaco and Como.
The 39-year-old transitioned from playing to coaching while still playing at Como. He took on the under-19 and B teams at the Italian outfit after retiring in 2023, gaining his UEFA A coaching licence that same year.
Just one year later, Fabregas would become the permanent manager of Como's first team, signing a four-year deal. Football Italia suggests that the former midfielder earns around £850,000 (€1m) annually as head coach.

Fabregas has three children with his wife, Daniella Semaan, who is 12 years his senior. The pair first began dating in 2011 and got engaged in 2017.
They have three kids - daughters Lia and Capri, and son Leonardo - and Fabregas is also stepfather to Daniella's two children from a previous marriage, Maria and Joseph. Currently, Semaan is 51 years old and Fabregas is 39, but it doesn't look like this hefty gap in ages has an impact on their loving relationship.

Discussing their bond on social media in 2019, the ex-Arsenal man said: "10 years ago today I met the women of my dreams. It’s been such an amazing ride next to you, falling incredibly in love, living in 3 different countries, travelling the world, living all kinds of experiences, having 3 amazing kids together + Jojo and Mimi, and, most importantly, loving each other every single day.
"Thank you Daniella Semaan for making me the happiest man on earth every single moment. I love you so much. Cheers to another beautiful 10."
Thoughts on managing Arsenal

Fabregas reportedly has a long-term plan to return to north London and take over from Arteta. That is according to Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol, who spoke about the prospect after the former Spain international was linked with taking over at another one of his former clubs earlier this year.
The Sky Sports star suggests, however, that Chelsea is not a viable option for the young manager at the moment. Speaking on the Transfer Talk podcast, Solhekol said: "Cesc Fabregas, what I’ve been told, there’s some kind of suggestion that long-term, the plan for him is to manage Arsenal one day. I’m not sure moving to Chelsea would be part of his career progression."
Como aren't preparing for any blockbuster return to the Premier League for Fabregas anytime soon. Sporting director Ludi claims that while the club can't predict future moves, the manager is settled in Serie A for now.
He told Sport Mediaset in April: "We’re calm. We’re focused on these next few games. We’re incredibly aligned with Cesc but we can’t predict the future. However, I’m sure that we will continue this journey together."
