**[Everton](https://ReadEverton.com) are said to be considering a move for Kyle Walker, whose search for regular Premier League football took an unexpected detour to Turf Moor last summer.**
According to reports, David Moyes is keen on bringing the former England international to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, more than a year after the pair first came close, with Walker instead joining Burnley from Manchester City.
The 36-year-old still has 12 months left on that Turf Moor contract, and has not looked short of conviction since — he started 35 Premier League games in Burnley’s relegation campaign. He opened this season by scoring the winning penalty in Saturday’s Carabao Cup victory over Notts County.
Right-back has been a problem area for Moyes all summer. Jake O’Brien, a centre-back by trade, has been used as a makeshift option there, while Nathan Patterson has yet to convince as the long-term successor to Seamus Coleman, who left the club last summer.
Moyes will want the position sorted before Everton’s opening-weekend visit from Crystal Palace.
It’s the latest name in what’s been a moderately busy window for Everton, following the additions of Christian Norgaard, Hayden Hackney, Tyrique George and Merlin Röhl, plus Tuesday’s swap deal bringing in Brennan Johnson as Dwight McNeil moved the other way.
