Fabrizio Romano reveals that “deal could happen at €35m fee” for Liverpool midfielder

Fabrizio Romano has given a further update in the Curtis Jones saga as Inter continue their interest in the Scouse midfielder.

Inter have held Jones as their priority signing since May, but are waiting on the sale of Davide Frattesi before they will put in a bid. The Italian giants feel they will be able to agree a deal with Liverpool for somewhere in the region of €35 million.

Inter were also reported to be ready to make a bid for England international Djed Spence, who had previously been offered to Liverpool and impressed at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Curtis Jones current contract situation

Jones has been at the club since a youth level and his current contract comes to an end at the end of the 2026/27 season. If Liverpool were not to sell and not able to agree a new contract, Jones would be the next in a line of several key players to leave the club without receiving a transfer fee.

Wilson Cox has reported that Jones is looking a £150,000 a week deal to sign a new contract at the club.

Curtis Jones is asking for a salary of over £150k per week as part of a potential new contract, but Liverpool are currently not prepared to meet those demands.

Inter Milan are expected to return with an improved offer for the midfielder soon.

This would be the level of salary that a player who is in the starting lineup each week and as this is not Jones’ current place in the squad, Liverpool are not prepared to meet his demand currently.
