Liverpool face competition from Manchester United and Arsenal for £75 million transfer

According to the Daily Briefing, Liverpool are one of several Premier League clubs to hold talks with Iliman Ndiaye from Everton.

Liverpool would face competition from Manchester United and Arsenal, who have also held talks with the players representatives.

Everton would look for a transfer fee in the region of £75 million and with three Premier League clubs potentially interested there is a potential that he would demand such a fee.

The 26-year-old joined Everton in 2024 and has scored 15 Premier League goals across his 55 Premier League games.

The short journey across Merseyside

Despite the close proximity of the two clubs, transfers between the two are very rare. Normally, only youth team players would cross the divide if they have left the other academy.

The most recent transfer commanding a fee between the teams was for Abel Xavier in 2001, who joined Liverpool for a fee of about £1 million. The biggest transfer fee came when Liverpool signed Nick Barmby for £8 million in 2000.

A move for Ndiaye would be massive for several reasons. It would shatter the record for a fee paid between the sides, but also be the first signing involving a fee between the clubs in 25 years.

Ndiaye would offer a lot of pace and pressing to the Liverpool attack, which would suit the style of Andoni Iraola.

If this deal were to take place it would make sense if Cody Gakpo were to make the rumoured transfer to Spurs for a similar fee.
