Liverpool’s move for Bradley Barcola looks to have hit a snag and Arsenal are said to be keeping a close eye on the situation as a result.
Arsenal are in the transfer market to bring in a left winger and Vini Jr move didn’t work out and it looks like an opportunity would present itself on the plate going into the final weeks of the summer window.
Where Liverpool stand in transfer Bradley Barcola race?
According to well-connected transfer account Franchise (@franchisexcl), Liverpool and PSG remain some distance apart on Barcola’s price. The player himself is reportedly open to the move and keen on what Liverpool could offer, but the Anfield club are drawing a hard line at around £125m, a figure PSG are said to be pushing well past.
Liverpool’s hierarchy apparently believe their business elsewhere, with Mika Godts and Torres already arriving this summer, gives them room to negotiate Barcola’s price down. PSG’s side of the story is very different, with sources in Paris reportedly rejecting the idea that other signings should have any bearing on what they’re asking for one of their most valuable attacking assets.

Arsenal are watching closely
With the gap between the two clubs seemingly not closing, Arsenal are said to still be monitoring Barcola’s situation. It’s the kind of standoff that can occasionally work in a patient rival’s favour, if Liverpool won’t move on price and PSG won’t budge either, a frustrated player and a stalled negotiation can sometimes open the door for a third party to step in.
Nothing suggests Arsenal are actively pushing forward with an approach at this stage, and Liverpool remain favourites to bring Barcola to Premier League (atleast at the time of writing) if a move happens at all. But as long as the fee stays unresolved, this is a situation worth keeping an eye on and Arsenal clearly are.
