Juventus have devised a two-stage plan to solve their goalkeeping question: a one-year loan for Zion Suzuki now, followed by a move for Liverpool’s Alisson in 2027.

According to calciomercato.it, relaying Sportmediaset, the difficulty in signing Suzuki on a permanent basis has pushed the Bianconeri towards a new strategy.

Having seen PSG win the race to buy the Japanese from Parma, Juventus would take Suzuki on loan from the French club for the coming season, a stop-gap that keeps their options open.

The longer-term target, and the man Luciano Spalletti covets most, is Alisson, who could become available on a free transfer when his Liverpool contract expires in 2027.

Spalletti’s bond with Alisson central to Juventus’ plan

The appeal is obvious. Spalletti worked with Alisson during their time together at Roma, forging a strong relationship, and the Brazilian has been open to another spell in Serie A.

Liverpool, however, remain determined to keep him: they triggered a clause to extend his deal to 2027, have Giorgi Mamardashvili lined up as his long-term successor, and Alisson himself has signalled he intends to honour his contract before weighing his future.

That makes the 2027 move a hope rather than a certainty for Juventus. For now, the focus is on completing the Suzuki loan, with Guglielmo Vicario and others having also featured on the club’s shortlist through a summer-long search.

But the plan is clear: a short-term fix between the posts this season, with the ambition of landing one of the world’s finest goalkeepers, for nothing, a year from now.
