Everton are considering a surprise move to sign England legend Kyle Walker to solve their right-back issues, according to reports.
The Toffees are in the market to bolster their squad after losing Seamus Coleman at the end of his contract, while there is hope that Jake O'Brien will be able to shift across to his natural centre-back position instead, as Moyes looks to make the team more solid.
Nathan Patterson has failed to impress since his big-money move from Rangers in 2022, which has made the right-back position a priority to strengthen. Now manager David Moyes is eyeing up a move for a long-term target as a short-term solution to their problem.
According to a report by The Sun, David Moyes has identified a move to bring in Burnley defender Kyle Walker following their relegation to the Championship.
Walker joined Burnley from Man City last summer but couldn't stop the team from finishing 19th in the division. However, the 36-year-old could now be ready to make a return to the Premier League immediately, with Moyes a big fan of the speedy defender.
The right-back has previously been on the verge of a move to the blue side of Merseyside twice, but the deals never materialised and he instead went elsewhere. But Everton are now hopeful of being able to agree a nominal fee to get him to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
He would be the sixth signing of the summer for Moyes, who has made Tyrique George and Merlin Rohl's loans from last season permanent, while they have also completed the signings of Hayden Hackney, Christian Norgaard, and Brennan Johnson.

'Unbelievable' Walker an Odd Everton Move
Kyle Walker
There's no disputing that Walker is now at the back end of his career, and the 96-cap England international recently brought an end to his international career, which saw him praised as 'unbelievable' by Thomas Tuchel and Sir Gareth Southgate.
But Everton, who just allowed Coleman to leave after several years of disappointing performances that were linked to being too sentimental, would be making a major error by bringing in Walker at this stage.
Despite his phenomenal career that saw him win six Premier League titles, a Champions League, and more, his pace is disappearing, and that has always been one of his greatest strengths. Everton play a deeper defensive line, meaning he shouldn't have to use it too much anyway, but he showed last year with Burnley that he is struggling at this level now.
Everton should be targeting younger right-back options instead, and with names such as Brooke Norton-Cuffey, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Djed Spence linked, they would be far better signings in the final weeks of the window.
