BBC reporter denies Everton have any interest in Kyle Walker
Cross another right-back off the list… probably.
Kyle Walker’s rumoured move to Everton has taken another turn, with BBC Radio Merseyside’s Giulia Bould directly contradicting Tuesday’s reports linking the two.
Bould, reporting via the BBC Sport transfer feed, says her understanding is that a Walker deal is “a non starter” — and, more pointedly, that despite Everton being active in the market for a right-back, the Burnley man “isn’t on their list of targets” at all. That’s a firmer denial than simply downplaying the timing; it disputes Walker being under any real consideration in the first place.
It directly contradicts Tuesday night’s reporting from talkSPORT and one of the tabloids, which had Everton keen on Walker as David Moyes looks to fill the right-back gap before the Crystal Palace opener, with Walker himself having come close to Everton on multiple occasions before.
As things stand, this is the latest word on the story. Bould’s report is the most recent, and comes from a reporter closely plugged into Everton’s beat specifically, though it sits directly at odds with named reporting from two national outlets just a day earlier.
Neither side has offered anything beyond their own understanding, so there’s no independent confirmation either way for now.
Everton’s right-back search remains unresolved regardless, with Alistair Johnston, Daniel Munoz and now this Walker confusion all forming part of an increasingly crowded, still-unsettled picture heading into the final weeks of the window.
