Report: Chiefs bring back old friend for defensive line help

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs is returning to the organization to help provide depth on the defensive line.

According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Chiefs and free agent defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah agreed to terms Tuesday on a one-year deal.

Ogbah played for the Chiefs for 10 games in 2019, winning Super Bowl LIV with Kansas City. That season, he totaled 5.5 sacks in the regular season for the Chiefs.

He did not play in the postseason in 2019.

Ogbah, 32, is entering his 11th season in the NFL if he suits up for a regular season game with the Chiefs.

He played 13 games for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2025, but only had 0.5 sacks. In the previous two seasons with the Miami Dolphins he had 10.5 total sacks.

Ogbah joins a Chiefs defensive ends group that lost Ethan Downs for the season with a torn ACL at the beginning of training camp. The remainder of the Chiefs roster at the position includes George Karlaftis, Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Ashton Gillotte and rookie R Mason Thomas.
