Bengals rookie CB has sights set on $58,950 Rolex with first NFL paycheck image
The Cincinnati Bengals didn't have a first-round pick, but they did use their Day 2 selections on some defensive help. In the third round at pick No. 72, they took Arizona cornerback Tacario Davis.
Davis joins a Bengals defense in dire need of help, and while he might not start right away, he's still being paid quite handsomely. And with his heavier wallet in mind, Davis has one big purchase in mind.
According to ESPN, Davis has his sights set on a Rolex that could cost him $58,950. It's a lot of money for a watch, but considering his rookie deal is well beyond that figure, it's a one-time purchase Davis can now afford.
Bengals rookie CB considering $58,950 Rolex as first purchase with NFL contract
"I feel like there's levels to it," Davis said. "When you're a kid, you want a chain. You don't ever want a watch. But watches start a conversation. Somebody will be looking [at you] and say, 'Nice watch, man!'"
Davis is eyeing a Rolex as his one splurge from his rookie contract, with the intention to save as much as possible.
The specific Rolex that is catching his eye, according to ESPN, is an "18-carat rose gold Day-Date that carries a suggested retail price of $58,950."

That's quite the expensive purchase, but considering other rookies around the league are spending even more on houses and cars, this wouldn't be too outlandish for Davis.
Davis' rookie deal, as a third-round pick drafted at No. 72 overall, comes in at a little over $7.2 million over four years. That's a lot of money, but not as much as some other players drafted higher than him are making.
Seattle Seahawks rookie running back Jadarian Price, drafted with the last pick of the first round (No. 32 overall), is making a bit over $16.7M on his rookie deal, with $8.6M guaranteed.
So while Davis is making a lot of money overall, he isn't making as much as other players drafted ahead of him. But it's more than enough to make a $58,950 Rolex purchase to commemorate his foray into the NFL.
