Chelsea are demanding a €5m loan fee from Crystal Palace for defender Axel Disasi, a sum deemed excessive by the Eagles.
Journalist Santi Aouna reports that Chelsea are demanding a high asking price for the defender, just to sanction a loan deal this season.
€5m loan fee demand
According to his information, the Blues want to his information, the Blues want €5m alone for a ‘dry loan’ this season. That means a loan without an option to buy included. There is no mention of whether they also want payment towards the 28-year-old’s wages also.
Either way, Crystal Palace have deemed Chelsea’s initial demands to be excessive. Aouna reports that discussions are now scheduled for the coming days to try to reach an agreement.
Crystal Palace, of course, are on the hunt for a new central defender to replace Maxence Lacroix. He joined Chelsea in a €50m deal earlier this month.
The Frenchman’s departure has left a hole in Crystal Palace’s backline that they now need to fill. But doing so is proving difficult at this point in time.
Chelsea plotting
Axel Disasi does not appear to be a part of Chelsea’s long-term plans. The 28-year-old returned Stamford Bridge this summer from a loan deal at West Ham and was previously on loan at Aston Villa. Vi
lla paid €6m for their loan, while West Ham paid €2m for theirs. And it seems Chelsea want paying again to sanction another one.
Perhaps that is due to the fact that Disasi’s current deal with the Blues runs until 2029. Having paid €45m in 2023, they are now trying to recoup as much as possible.
But a €5m loan fee for a player valued at fee for a player valued at €15m is excessive by anybody’s reckoning. It is easy to see why Crystal Palace think so and are resisting such a deal at present.
