Chelsea thought they were getting one of the best young players in world football when they signed Kendry Paez, however they should now consider selling him this summer.

Paez was brought in with the same ceiling as Estevao Willian, although the Brazil international has established himself as a key player at Stamford Bridge.

After making his Ecuador debut at a young age, Paez’s career has not taken off to the same levels. Since being signed, he has endured loan spells at Strasbourg and River Plate.

Kendry Paez is the obvious Chelsea player sale no one is talking about

After being recalled early from Strasbourg, it looks as if his time in Argentina is set to end early too, with Paez being added to their ‘bomb squad’.

This puts the youngster at an interesting crossroads, and should be leaving the club wondering whether it is time to say goodbye to Paez.

He is yet to make a senior appearance for the Blues, and problems regarding his attitude have been reported at both of the clubs he has been on loan at.

Argentine media have questioned Paez’s attitude, and this is a factor which cannot be added to Xabi Alonso’s squad if it does not improve.

Chelsea players have been quick to praise the atmosphere Alonso has created since taking over at Stamford Bridge, with a genuine belief around the club that they are in for a very strong season.

Therefore, every signing they make has to fit in when it comes to attitude, and the red flags are there with Paez.

The Blues spent around £18m on the wonderkid, with plenty of clubs no doubt willing to take the risk that he lives up to the potential he has already shown in patches during his career.

Chelsea have continued to strengthen their first team squad while Paez has been away from the first team squad, and signings like Estevao, Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer are set to play key roles for a number of years.

With the Blues looking to raise funds from player sales throughout the squad, Paez is the obvious option no one is talking about when it comes to making some money.
