Manchester United have been told to waste no time in signing Arsenal academy graduate Myles Lewis-Skelly in the transfer window. The 19-year-old has been linked with an exit from the Emirates Stadium in recent days.

As revealed by football.london, both Chelsea and Man United have been offered the opportunity to sign Lewis-Skelly. The recent £75million arrival of Bruno Guimaraes at the club could make a sale more likely, with Lewis-Skelly starting just 19 games in all competitions for the Gunners last season.

Man United are keen to add to their squad before the end of the window, with left-back and midfield two of the positions that they are looking at. The teenager is able to play in both, which could appeal to Michael Carrick's side.

Former Man United defender Rio Ferdinand believes the club should not let this opportunity pass them by, suggesting the club should be willing to spend up to £70million to complete the transfer.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand said: "If I'm Manchester United right now, I say press the green button and buy him, take him, right now.

"What a player, a top player. He was a massive part of the team when he was brought in towards the end of the season. He contributed to Arsenal winning the league, he was brilliant and came in and produced.

"If he's on the market and he's a good price you have to take him. The good price I'm saying is £60m or £70m.

"If that's the case, get the chequebook out, slap it down and sign him. No questions asked, I would take him.

"He's young, a huge talent, can play in two positions and I think mentally he's made of the right stuff."

Chelsea are understood to have had the left-back on their radar for a while, although it is yet to be seen if the club decide to make a move for him after already completing a number of deals this summer.

Lewis-Skelly progressed through Arsenal's academy system before breaking into the senior squad during the 2024/25 campaign. He has since featured 75 times for the Gunners' first team, netting once and registering six assists.

He has featured in every Arsenal pre-season game so far, starting in defensive midfield.
