Barcelona star sits out training ahead of imminent exit

Barcelona star Ferran Torres played no part in training alongside the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad in Catalunya’s capital on Wednesday. This comes ahead of an imminent departure from the club for the Spaniard.

Frontman Ferran has of course seen his name dominate the transfer headlines across Europe for several weeks now.

Ahead of the expiration of his Barcelona contract terms in 12 months’ time, the 26-year-old has been identified as a priority signing on the part of Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain.

An agreement on the terms of a long-term contract has already been put in place between Ferran’s representatives and the brass at the Parc des Princes, with a similar accord now being sought between the respective clubs, too.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from Spain on Wednesday is anything to go by, then as much today appears closer than ever to being found.

As per a report from market insider David Ornstein of The Athletic, despite having been scheduled to return to Barcelona training on Wednesday, Ferran was nowhere to be seen at the Ciutat Esportiva.

Why? A final agreement on the terms of a big-money deal is now considered all but imminent.
