Tottenham are hoping to add some more firepower to their attack in the coming weeks.
Tottenham have spent their money wisely on new signings this summer. There are a lot of high-profile names who have walked through the doors at N17 during the first half of the transfer window, thanks to the ambition shown by the Lilywhites in recent weeks. The likes of Jan Paul van Hecke, Sandro Tonali, and Mateus Fernandes were signed for approximately £235m, while the North Londoners have also managed to bring in the likes of Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Martin Dubravka on free transfers.
Despite outspending every other Premier League club this summer, the North Londoners are yet to bring in attacking reinforcements during the ongoing transfer window. It is clear to see that Spurs are lacking firepower in the final third of the pitch as they continue to go through a major squad revamp under Roberto de Zerbi. The recent pre-season matches have also shown that the Lilywhites need new players who could make an instant impact in the final third.
The slow negotiations and intentional delays in getting deals over the line could end up haunting Spurs in the near future. Roberto de Zerbi recently gave assurances that the Lilywhites are still in the market for a new attacker as the club aims to get off to a flying start this season. However, it seems as though the North Londoners have hit a roadblock as they look to add more reinforcements before the transfer window shuts.
Tottenham aiming to land Everton star Iliman Ndiaye this summer
It comes as no surprise that Tottenham are hoping to add more flair to their attack this summer. With Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons still recovering from their ACL injuries, it is important for the Lilywhites to sign a player who could easily provide some much-needed creativity in the final third of the pitch. Signing a winger is key as Roberto de Zerbi aims to kickstart a new era at N17 this season.
Recent reports have linked Spurs with Everton star Iliman Ndiaye. The Lilywhites are keen on landing the Senegal international despite facing immense competition for his signature. The same report states that Al-Hilal are also pursuing a deal for the 26-year-old, with the Saudi giants willing to pay the £75m asking price for his services. Along with Al-Hilal, Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Arsenal are also exploring the possibility of landing the talented winger in the coming weeks.

Spurs, however, have received a significant transfer boost in their attempts to land Iliman Ndiaye this summer. As per Fabrizio Romano (via X), Ndiaye has decided to reject a move to Saudi Arabia despite being offered huge money this summer. The Senegal international is keen on staying in the Premier League for the time being, opening the door for the Lilywhites to pursue a deal for the right price.
The right man for Tottenham?
In terms of pure footballing ability, signing Iliman Ndiaye should be a no-brainer for Spurs. The Senegal international offers tactical fluidity as he can operate either on the left wing, as a false 9, as an out-and-out #10, or on the opposite flank. Not only that, but the 26-year-old also has a high ceiling. His quick pace, ability to control the tempo of the game, flair, and desire to take on defenders are qualities that Spurs could use up front as they continue to back Roberto de Zerbi.
However, splashing £75m on a player who has not produced great numbers in the Premier League seems risky. Iliman Ndiaye is still inconsistent in front of goal, and there is a high risk that the Senegal international might not be able to perform on the big stage on a regular basis. As a result, it is important that Spurs do their due diligence on the player before proceeding with the deal in the coming weeks.
