Celtic show interest in Chelsea defender whose father is a former Super Eagles star
Tri-national defender Landon Emenalo has been linked with a move away from Chelsea before the close of the summer transfer window.
Born in Arizona, the left-back is eligible to represent the United States, England and Nigeria at international level.
Landon comes from a notable football family, with his father, Michael Emenalo, a member of Nigeria's squad at the 1994 World Cup.
The versatile fullback travelled with Chelsea's first team for their pre-season tour of Australia, starting the entertaining 6-4 win over WS Wanderers and was an unused substitute against Tottenham Hotspur.
According to Sky Sports UK, Emenalo is among the candidates Celtic are considering to provide cover for Kieran Tierney.
Ahead of a possible move to Celtic, the England youth international travelled to Glasgow on Wednesday for talks with the Premiership champions.
The Hoops are looking to bring in a left-back on loan, although a permanent transfer has not been ruled out.
Although Emenalo has yet to make his competitive debut for Chelsea, he has been named on the bench for Premier League, Champions League and Conference League matches.
The 18-year-old signed his first professional contract with the Blues in January 2025, and his current deal runs until June 2031.
