Vikings HC talks about why Kyler Murray is ready to take over the QB job

EAGAN, MN (Dakota News Now) -We heard from Kevin O’Connell yesterday about his choice of Kyler Murray as the Vikings starting quarterback over JJ McCarthy.

Murray brings plenty of proven talent in the NFL to Minnesota on a 1-year deal. And he’s been a quick learner which extremely impressive to his new head coach who was also a QB back in the day.

Kevin O’Connell, Vikes HC says, “In the short time speaking to Kyler and speaking about Kyler I think he’s demonstrated what he’s capable of. Both the experience he has playing at a high level in this league but also the experience of coming in here and being challenged. I think he’s show enough to really project with the right pre-requisite now of work for a starter leading into a camp that we can get the rhythm, the timing. We can get the mastery of our system and this year’s system.”

Remember that Murray is in Minnesota on a 1-year prove it deal. If he does have a big year he will command huge numbers next year. Carson Wentz is also a Viking and has looked good so far in camp.
