**As Liverpool look to make wide attacking signings before the end of the summer transfer window, Fabrizio Romano has dropped a significant new claim.**
The Reds’ pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola continues to be one of the sagas of the summer, with the Frenchman and Ibrahim Mbaye not playing any part in the UEFA Super Cup win against Aston Villa.
It looks to be a case of Liverpool and PSG agreeing a fee for Barcola before the window closes, and journalist [Graeme Bailey](https://live4liverpool.com/a-move-to-anfield-holds-huge-appeal-to-bradley-barcola-mid-ongoing-talks-with-psg/) has talked up the winger’s willingness to move to Anfield:
_“A move to Liverpool and Anfield holds huge appeal to Barcola. Sources tell us his representatives have already held talks with the club and personal terms are not considered an issue should the two sides reach an agreement with PSG.”_
Writing on [_X_](https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/2087806358921891927?s=20) on Thursday morning, Romano made the exciting claim that Liverpool are still ideally looking to make two wide attacking signings this month, rather than just one:
_“Liverpool could add TWO wingers to the squad, especially if Cody Gakpo end up joining Tottenham. Barcola deal remain on as talks are ongoing with PSG, LFC open to adding one more winger. Ibrahima Mbaye on list but currently too expensive.”_
**Will Liverpool sign both Bradley Barcola AND Ibrahim Mbaye?**
---------------------------------------------------------------
As things stand, it would be a major disappointment if Barcola wasn’t in a Liverpool shirt come next month, with his absence from PSG’s game against Villa a further sign that he will leave.
The Reds must be careful that another club doesn’t swoop in for the 23-year-old, however, with Premier League champions Arsenal recently linked with a move.
If Liverpool could snap up Barcola and Mbaye, it would be superb business, but if the latter is deemed to be too expensive, another option should be looked at.
The Reds feel two wingers light, especially if Cody Gakpo ends up leaving, and Andoni Iraola needs to have as much squad depth available to him as possible.
It has been a slightly frustrating summer in the market for Liverpool to date, but if they nail their dealings in the next few weeks, all will be forgiven.
