In rather timely fashion, Manchester City have found a buyer for Tijjani Reijnders - just in time to beat the clock for Enzo Fernandez after Chelsea set their Friday 5pm deadline to resolve matters.
What seems difficult to fathom is that City are actually set to make a profit on the Dutchman, who arrived for £46.3million from AC Milan last summer.
Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah are closing in on a £51m transfer, provided the midfielder is willing to depart Europe for a new chapter in the Middle East.
There had been interest from Nottingham Forest and Atletico Madrid too but either way, City won't care provided they get the money they desire.

It's certainly interesting for Arsenal, who have endured huge problems trying to recoup money for their players in recent years. In fact, their record sale remains Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain following his £35m switch to Liverpool back in 2017.
In the midst of City's talks to sell Reijnders, Arsenal have received a £38.5m bid from Galatasaray for winger Gabriel Martinelli.
They would be keen to bring in much more than that figure if they were to offload the Brazilian but he's been short of interest and you can't help but feel they would currently do well to receive bids much higher than that number.
It's a sorry state of affairs given Martinelli is still considered one of the best young left-wingers in European football and it also makes you question whether it's even worth Arsenal selling.

They would need to find an upgrade first anyway and that also looks complex in a difficult market following Vinicius Junior's decision to pen a new long-term contract with Real Madrid.
Ethan Nwaneri is another player attracting interest but suitors will no doubt seek to capitalise on his drop in value following a tough loan spell with Marseille.
It just feels like if Nwaneri played for Manchester City or Chelsea, he would be far more marketable, which is why Arsenal somehow need to find a way to improve their ability to sell.
Said offer for Reijnders will feel like a bitter pill for Arsenal to swallow, as it highlights the differences between where these two clubs are when it comes to making player sales.
