Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders is in advanced talks with Saudi Pro League club Al Qadsiah as a £50million deal advances.
Reijnders was present at City’s open training session on Thursday but is in talks over a move to the Middle East and looks set to depart the Etihad just a year after arriving from AC Milan.
Reijnders had attracted interest from Nottingham Forest this summer but it's Al Qadsiah who are set to secure the 28-year-old’s signature.
If and when Reijnders' exit is complete, City will look to add another midfielder and have been linked with Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez with the Stamford Bridge club having reportedly set a Friday deadline for bids for the Argentina international.
The Blues have already broken their club record transfer fee to sign Elliot Anderson for £116m and remain keen on adding Lille teenager Ayyoub Bouaddi.
Any replacement for Reijnders would be on top of those deals while City would also seek to sign a replacement for Rodri who remains keen on a move to Barcelona.
The Blues are seeking a package worth £70million for the World Cup winner and Barca have failed to make an acceptable offer during their talks so far. Rodri, who has undergone minor back surgery this summer, is due back at City on Friday.
Meanwhile, Savinho was also absent from training on Thursday but club sources have clarified the winger is ill. The 22-year-old is the subject of longstanding interest from Tottenham amid the prospect of a £60m move to the capital.
Jack Grealish was among the players training in the Manchester sun with the winger having missed the pre-season tour of Asia to continue working his way back to full fitness.
