"Medical scheduled for tomorrow' as €35m Liverpool transfer set to proceed

Liverpool are watching as the dominoes which will allow Curtis Jones to leave the club this summer begin to fall.

On Wednesday, Fabrizio Romano reported that Liverpool’s sale of Jones to Inter is directly tied to Frattesi’s move to Lazio.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio confirms that Lazio are set to proceed with their move to sign Frattesi from Inter Milan, which should now give Inter and Liverpool a chance to complete a deal for Jones.

Di Marzio reports on his website: “Davide Frattesi is preparing to become a new Lazio player . The midfielder, arriving from Inter , is scheduled for a medical on Friday, August 14th.

“The deal will be concluded on a €1 million loan , with an obligation to buy tied to two conditions: one regarding the player’s number of appearances, the other Lazio’s final ranking, with the obligation triggered if they finish at least tenth. Inter will also retain a 50% stake in any capital gains from a future resale, while the agreement also includes €3-4 million in bonuses.”

Fabrizio Romano says Inter Milan will now approach Liverpool for Curtis Jones again

Reporting on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano reports that Inter are set to make yet another approach to Liverpool for Jones, although he caveats this claim by saying it will still take time for a deal to be completed.

“Inter are now ready to approach Liverpool again for Curtis Jones,” Romano reports. “It won’t be an instantaneous process, not tomorrow morning, not tonight. It will take a little more patience, with Inter realistically expected to go back to Liverpool from next week onwards.

“I repeat, the feeling is that €35m could be enough to get the deal over the line. Liverpool are unlikely to offer any further significant discounts. For his part, Jones continues to tell his agents that at least as of today, he does not want to consider any other options.

“As long as Inter remain there and continue making offers, Curtis Jones is not listening to other clubs.”

Liverpool will need to replace Jones if he leaves, with the Reds said to be in the mix to sign Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton.
