Arsenal have been approached with an offer for Gabriel Martinelli, football.london understands. It was confirmed last week that the Brazilian had been the subject of an enquiry from Galatasaray.
The Turkish side have now acted on that initial contact and formalised their interest. The offer, believed to be in the region on £38million, is lower than the Gunners’ expectations of a sale.
Furthermore, with 19 days left of the transfer window, the club are no closer to securing a new forward player. After both Morgan Rogers and Vinicius Junior joined Chelsea and stayed at Real Madrid respectively, it has left Arsenal in an awkward position and lacking obvious targets.

Mikel Arteta spoke following their final pre-season friendly of the summer against Como 1907. He was asked for his view on the challenge of signing players that are good enough to improve this current group.
“But that's the demands, as you said,” Arteta said. "I think for the margins to improve, there are very few players in the market that are available to do that and bring that to the club. But again, we are actively looking to improve that and we're going to try.”
The high-profile forwards that remain linked with the club are Julian Alvarez and Kenan Yildiz. However any more would be monstrously expensive and potentially require an outgoing in the case of the Argentinian.
Income from the sale of Martinelli would help with the Gunners’ capacity to make a move for a top winger, however how much of a guarantee such a player would bring to the club remains unclear.
Arsenal take on Manchester City in the FA Community Shield on Sunday before their Premier League opener at home to Coventry City in the Premier League. After a less than convincing pre-season run and many players either yet to return or gain the required sharpness, there is no doubt some concern as to how both the campaign will start and how the window will end.
