The board at La Liga giants Barcelona are locked in negotiations with their counterparts at Portuguese outfit SC Braga this week. This comes amid an ongoing effort on the part of the latter to land Tommy Marqués.

Youngster Tommy has for his part seen his future take a rather dramatic turn over the course of the last few weeks.

After it was suggested that the 19-year-old was set for a more prominent first-team role owing to the injury suffered by Frenkie de Jong, Barcelona’s pursuit of Rodri brought Tommy firmly back down to earth.

Desperate for senior game time, the Spaniard, in turn, is now taking into serious consideration a move away from Catalunya’s capital before the summer is out.

And as alluded to above, this week, one potential landing spot for Tommy has been revealed in the media. The info comes courtesy of Spanish outlet Jijantes, who report:

‘Tommy Marqués has a proposal from Sporting de Braga to continue his football career. Barça and the player’s entourage are working to close the transfer to the team where Pau Victor also plays.’

Frontman Víctor departed Barcelona on a permanent basis last summer, and has since enjoyed a thoroughly productive time of things in his new home in Portugal’s northwest.
