Arsenal are reportedly prepared to consider selling Martin Zubimendi if a significant offer arrives, just days after completing the £75million signing of Bruno Guimaraes.
Zubimendi was a key figure during Arsenal’s Premier League title-winning campaign last season, featuring in all 38 league games following his move from Real Sociedad.
His situation has nevertheless changed considerably this summer.
Guimaraes’ arrival has added another elite midfielder to a squad already containing Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino and Eberechi Eze, raising questions over how Mikel Arteta will distribute minutes.
According to AS, citing reporting in England, Arsenal are no longer completely closing the door on Zubimendi leaving if an attractive proposal is submitted.

That represents a notable shift.
ReadArsenal reported earlier this week that Arsenal were not looking to sell Zubimendi despite interest from Chelsea and Real Madrid.
The Spain international was reportedly valued at around €90million (£77m), with Arsenal under little pressure to cash in after only one season at the Emirates.
Guimaraes’ £75m arrival has complicated that position.
AS reports Arsenal are conscious that reduced playing time could eventually affect Zubimendi’s value. A strong offer this summer could therefore force the club into a decision, although Arteta is not expected to make any departure straightforward.
Zubimendi remains under a long-term contract and played an important role in Arsenal’s first league title in more than two decades.
He also featured throughout last season despite ending the campaign with a reduced role and missing out on a starting place in the Champions League final.
Competition is only going to increase.
Guimaraes made his Arsenal debut during Wednesday night’s draw with Como, playing the second half before converting during the Gunners’ 4-3 penalty shootout win. ReadArsenal analysed the Brazilian’s first appearance after his big-money move from Newcastle.
There is currently no indication Arsenal are actively pushing Zubimendi towards the exit.
But the possibility of a sale being considered for the right price is significant, particularly with Real Madrid and Chelsea already linked.
After appearing firmly off limits earlier in the week, Zubimendi’s future has suddenly become one of Arsenal’s biggest situations to watch before the window closes.
