Liverpool and Everton could battle for the same transfer target this summer, as links have emerged over a potential deal for a Barcelona ace.
It comes as the Reds continue to be active in the market, exploring options to bolster Andoni Iraola's roster ahead of the new Premier League campaign. Three arrivals in the senior team have been confirmed so far, with Jeremy Jacquet, Victor Munoz, and Ronald Araujo all joining the club over the past few months of the window.
There is still work to be done, particularly up front, with Liverpool in talks to sign Bradley Barcola from PSG for the left wing, while his teammate Ibrahim Mbaye remains a potential target for the right flank.
After those potential arrivals, Liverpool could look at adding some further depth to the team, particularly at right-back, which remains a problem position.
A long-term injury for Conor Bradley has only been compounded by the persistent muscular problems for Jeremie Frimpong, which wreaked havoc at full-back for the Reds last season.
While Araujo's arrival could help partially fill that issue, there may be some more natural options in that role available, which includes Barcelona's Hector Fort.
According to Sport, Liverpool is among the teams interested in the 20-year-old right-back, which also includes Merseyside rivals Everton.
Fort is claimed to be available this summer, with Barcelona sanctioning an exit for the youngster after Hansi Flick decided against extending his stay at the club.

The Spaniard has made 30 appearances for the Blaugrana since making his way through the academy ranks, 17 of which came in the 2024/25 campaign.
The most recent season saw Fort move on loan to Elche, where he made 17 appearances across left-back and right-back, but suffered a long-term shoulder injury that saw him miss the majority of the campaign.
While he is now back and featuring for Barcelona in preseason, it seems as though an exit is on the cards that could allow Liverpool to pounce on a new right-back.
It's unclear exactly how much the club is demanding for his signature, and whether the Reds would be willing to match the fee set, but it offers a potential long-term solution to what has been a short-term problem.
With other teams lining up to seal a deal, it could be a battle for Fort's signature, with only weeks remaining in the summer transfer window.
