Tottenham's hopes of signing Victor Osimhen may be impeded by Arsenal. The Gunners are currently locked in transfer discussions with Osimhen's team Galatasaray.

However, Mikel Arteta's side have been discussing potential moves to Turkey for Ethan Nwaneri and Gabriel Martinelli, with the Turkish heavyweights bidding £38.4million for the latter. Before this news came to light, Spurs were linked with a potential £55m move for the Nigeria international.

It's since been reported that Osimhen's name was raised as the Gunners negotiated with Okan Buruk's side, although it's currently unclear as to whether this was raised by Arsenal or Galatasaray. Either way, it may be enough to make Spurs nervous.

It's been reported by Sky Sports Germany that £55m may be enough to persuade the club to sell him. Last season, Osimhen helped himself to 22 goals and eight assists in 33 appearances in all competitions.

He was especially impressive in the Champions League, where he notched seven goals and three assists in ten matches. In and amongst the reports linking Spurs to Osimhen, the Telegraph has since stated Arsenal may have entered the picture .

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for a marquee forward this season. They have already seen moves for Vinicius Junior and Morgan Rogers fail, while Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez is also a target.

Bayer Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane has also emerged as a potential option this summer. Osimhen has made it clear in the past that he dreams of one day playing in the Premier League. While he was at Napoli, he was regularly linked with a move to Chelsea.

At the time, west Londoners were not willing to meet the £113m transfer fee the Neapolitans put on his head. In September 2024, he eventually moved to Galatasary, initially on loan, but the Turkish side went on to sign him permanently for around £63m.

Nevertheless, his apparent thirst to test himself in the Premier League suggests he may be tempted with a move to England if a concrete offer presented itself. While he was at Napoli in 2023, he said: "I think playing in one of the top five leagues in the world is an amazing feeling for me."

He also added: "I'm working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League some day but like I said, it's a process and I just want to keep on this momentum and continue to do well."

De Zerbi recently suggested Richarlison may be looking for an exit, which would explain Spurs' apparent focus on signing a new striker. When asked if the Brazilian is looking for an exit, the Italian said: "I don't know.

"I didn't understand well because sometimes he says he wants to stay, sometimes he wants to leave. We have to speak anyway. There is not any problem. He's a lovely guy."
