Two-year veteran cornerback Terrion Arnold has signed a new contract with the Seattle Seahawks. Arnold, a former first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, spent the first two years of his career with the Detroit Lions before the team released him following an arrest stemming from felony kidnapping and armed robbery charges.

Terrion Arnold first made the bad type of headlines in late June when Florida police arrested the cornerback on multiple felony charges. The Detroit Lions did not wait long to release him, and the cornerback cleared waivers on July 6th. However, nobody expected this to be the end of his NFL career. Arnold’s agent said that multiple teams were interested in the cornerback, and while nobody wanted to claim responsibility for the guaranteed money on his previous contract, several organizations appeared willing to roll the dice on a low-risk, high-reward contract.

Cornerback Terrion Arnold first entered the league as a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Selected by the Detroit Lions, the Alabama product immediately earned a starting job on the team. Appearing in 16 games, the rookie finished his inaugural campaign with 10 passes defended, 60 tackles, and one fumble recovery while earning a few Defensive Rookie of the Year votes. With his help, the Lions won the NFC North and finished the season with an impressive 15-2 record. Unfortunately, they couldn’t make a deep playoff run, as the team lost in the NFC Divisional Round to quarterback Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders.

Terrion Arnold followed this up with an injury-plagued 2024. While he only appeared in eight games (seven starts), he finished the season with one interception, eight passes defended, and 31 tackles. Detroit couldn’t recapture the success of the 2023 and 2024 seasons, however, and missed the playoffs while stumbling to a 9-8 record.

Since entering the league, Terrion Arnold has recorded one interception, 18 passes defended, and 91 tackles.
