Celtic are closing in on a deal to sign Chelsea left-back Landon Emenalo. The 18-year-old was pictured at Lennoxtown yesterday before Celtic’s double announcement for Haissen Hassan and Mika Baur bolstered Martin O’Neill’s side.
Now, Celtic are nearing a deal to bring Emenalo to the Scottish Champions on a season-long loan. According to Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph, Celtic have pitched a first team role for Emenalo, something that appears to excite the talented youngster.

The Chelsea starlet will deputise to Kieran Tierney, who requires an able deputy to assist manage the Scotland Internationalist’s workload. Marcelo Saracchi’s loan was not made permanent and Celtic have been in the market for someone that can assist KT and offer quality in the LB position.
Xabi Alonso used Emenalo in three pre-season games and the versatile defender impressed. Chelsea will be pleased that the player will be guaranteed to play at Celtic Park, earning vital experience in a team that dominates with the ball and is expected to win every week.
It remains to be seen when the deal will be announced. There appears to be other interest in the player, which is said to complicate the deal slightly.
