Super Eagles striker discussed as Arsenal and Galatasaray hold transfer talks
Premier League champions Arsenal have reportedly explored the possibility of securing the services of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen before the close of the current summer transfer window.
Osimhen has been linked with a move away from Rams Park in recent weeks, with several clubs reportedly monitoring his situation.
The former Napoli striker has attracted interest from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, while Arsenal have also emerged as a potential destination for the Nigerian international.
According to a report from The Telegraph, Arsenal discussed the possibility of signing Osimhen during negotiations with Galatasaray over the potential departures of Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri.
The Yellow-Reds are reportedly interested in Martinelli and Nwaneri as they look to strengthen their attacking and midfield options, with talks taking place with Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta.
It remains unclear whether the possibility of signing Osimhen was raised by Berta or whether Galatasaray offered the Nigerian striker to the Premier League champions as part of the discussions.
Since joining Galatasaray from Napoli, Osimhen has established himself as a key figure for the Turkish champions, scoring 59 goals and providing 16 assists in 74 appearances across all competitions.
With the summer window approaching its conclusion, Osimhen will be keen to resolve his future and continue his impressive form ahead of the new campaign.
