Ipswich Town have reportedly enquired about the availability of Manchester City defender Juma Bah.

The 6ft 5in centre-back is a 20-year-old who hails from Sierra Leone.

He joined City from Spanish club Valladolid in January 2025 and has subsequently had loan spells at French clubs Lens and Nice.

According to former Sun journalist Alan Nixon, the Blues have been told he is available for £15m up front plus a further £10m in add-ons.

Town boss Gary O'Neil has signed 10 players for a combined £100m+ already this summer, but recently insisted 'the plan is to do quite a bit more'.

Chairman Mark Ashton told the EADT and Ipswich Star that the club's ambitious American have told him to push to the limits of financial fair play rules, adding: "We've got irons in a number of fires and I expect us to be fairly active right up until the end of the window."

Stu's verdict

It looks like another centre-back is on the shopping list to compete with Issa Diop, Dara O'Shea, Jacob Greaves and Cedric Kipre. I think that's wise given that there will be times a back three/five is used, plus the fact that O'Shea may be utilised at right-back if last weekend's friendly against Rayo Vallecano is anything to go by.

Ligue 1 is clearly a league Ipswich have heavily scouted, while it's one O'Neil knows well himself following six months at Strasbourg.

I'd be lying if I said I knew much about Bah, but he's clearly a big lad and the stats, unsurprisingly, suggest he's dominant in aerial and ground duels. He's right footed though and, for the purposes of balance, I thought the next centre-back addition would be a left footer.
