Manchester City want Chelsea‘s Enzo Fernández and have taken the necessary steps to sign him.
The Argentina international’s agent, Javier Pastore, has already confirmed his client’s desire to leave Chelsea this summer.
Manchester City have shown interest in the Chelsea star, mainly because of Enzo Maresca. The midfielder was a regular under the Italian at Stamford Bridge, managing 15 goals and 17 assists from 79 matches.
The manager wants to reunite with his former player at the Etihad. Two days ago, we relayed news the Citizens are going all out to sign him, and the next few hours will be key.
Manchester City take action
Journalists César Luis Merlo and Veronica Brunati reported on the Premier League side’s pursuit earlier this week and the two now share fresh updates.
Merlo took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report that Enzo Maresca ‘wants him at all costs’.
To please their manager, the English club have made a €120m offer to Chelsea. This comes ahead of Chelsea’s Friday deadline for Manchester City to table a bid.
Chelsea star agrees with Manchester City
Veronica Brunati also took to X to state that the 25-year-old and Enzo Maresca’s side have reached an agreement.
However, the negotiations between the Premier League duo have stalled because of the difference in valuation.
Brunati reports the Etihad club have made an offer, without mentioning a figure, and this is short of Chelsea’s £120m [€140.4m] demand.
Despite the gap, Manchester City are confident that the Blues ‘can soften their stance’. In short, City are optimistic about the west London club lowering the fee and reaching an agreement.
Maresca’s side are making room in the squad with Tijjani Reijnders’ impending sale to Al-Qadsiah.
