Paris Saint-Germain have agreed a deal to sign Ferran Torres and increased their bid for another winger as Bradley Barcola edges closer to a move to Liverpool.
While talks appear to drag on between PSG and Liverpool regarding Barcola, the French club have been busy bolstering their attack in the background.
Maghnes Akliouche has already debuted following the right winger’s move from Monaco and PSG are now closing on two further additions.
The Athletic‘s Pol Ballus was among those to report on Thursday night that a deal worth around €50 million (£42.7m) had been agreed with Barcelona for World Cup winner Torres.
All formalities of the transfer, including a medical, will now be conducted before the versatile striker’s move to Paris is confirmed.

Around the same time, Dutch publication De Telegraaf revealed an improved bid for Ajax winger Mika Godts, with PSG now offering a favourable package worth in the region of €55 million (£47m).
That comes close to Ajax’s valuation, and with Godts already agreeing terms on a contract, a move to France is highly likely.
If both deals go through as expected, PSG will have signed a new right winger, left winger and striker for a combined €155 million (£132.5m).
During talks for Barcola’s potential switch to Anfield, the 23-year-old has been valued by his current club as high as €170 million (£145.3m), though Liverpool are reportedly only willing to pay around €120 million (£102.6m).

Given the gulf in their valuations, PSG and Liverpool’s negotiations have been protracted, but a compromise now seems more feasible after progress on deals for Torres and Godts.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed on YouTube that talks are taking place daily, including on Thursday, and Liverpool are “ready to go strong” and that “the deal is on.”
PSG’s movement could create a domino effect in the market, with Tottenham also in pursuit of Cody Gakpo and, according to VI‘s Joost Blaauwhof, making formal contact with Liverpool this week.
Any progress in their attempts to sign Barcola could see the Reds open to Gakpo’s exit, with a fee of around £70 million expected.

Barcola is not the only winger being targeted at this stage, with Liverpool still assessing the market for another signing alongside the France international, for which PSG team-mate Ibrahim Mbaye is one of their options.
Mbaye is certainly not guaranteed to make the switch to Merseyside, however, with the finances involved currently said to be too high.
Nevertheless, PSG’s imminent deals for Torres and Godts are a major boost for Liverpool at a time when further reinforcements are desperately required.
