We continue to see more and more players make the switch to Turkey, as budgets continue to increase at clubs like Trabzonspor, Besiktas and Fenerbahce.
Mohamed Salah’s move to Trabzonspor sees him join the Turkish Super Lig side on a free transfer following nine years at Liverpool. Signing a two-year deal worth €17 million (£14.5m) per season, the 34-year-old becomes the highest-paid player in Turkish football history.
He isn’t the only big name to make their way to Turkey, as Victor Osimhen, Leroy Sane, Romelu Lukaku, Nathan Ake and Leandro Trossard have also made their way there.
However, in a strange turn of events, it appears if Kendry Paez could be the next man on the list, albeit this would be a loan move from Chelsea.

Trabzonspor in talks to sign Kendry Paez on loan
Kendry Paez’s trajectory has hit serious bumps across his loan spells. After arriving at Chelsea, his stint at Strasbourg produced just one goal in 21 appearances as off-pitch discipline issues restricted his impact.
Cut short in January 2026, Chelsea redirected him to River Plate, but questions surrounding his application and attitude continue to stall his momentum.
And now a move to Turkey looks likely, with Chelsea in negotiations with Trabzonspor for the loan of Kendry Paez, according to TyC Sports.
Where does Kendry Paez fit at Trabzonspor?
At Trabzonspor, Kendry Paez would likely slot into the attacking midfield role or operate off the right wing. His sharp passing and vision makes him an intriguing provider for Mohamed Salah up front.
However, securing a regular spot in the starting XI will completely depend on whether Paez shows the defensive work rate and discipline the club demands.
The talent is there, it’s just down to how he applies himself.
