Arsenal have been handed a boost as they look to offload Portugal international Fabio Vieira. The 26-year-old is back at the Emirates Stadium after spending last season on loan at Hamburger SV, where he impressed.

Hamburg would like to re-sign Vieira but they decided to pass up their buy-option this summer as they deemed it too expensive.

Instead, they are keen to negotiate a transfer at a cheaper price now Vieira has entered the final year of his contract with the Premier League champions.

Now they might just have more cash to offer after selling young winger Fabio Balde to BlueCo side Strasbourg.

The total transfer package is worth around £6million and if Hamburg can reinvest some of that money, they will have funds to raise their bid for the versatile attacking midfielder.

Vieira is believed to be open to returning to the Bundesliga side but he's been involved with Arsenal throughout pre-season.

He came off the bench on Wednesday evening as Mikel Arteta's side drew 1-1 with Como before they eventually beat the Italian outfit, managed by Cesc Fabregas, 4-3 on penalties.

The playmaker is one of several players Arsenal have made available for transfer in the final weeks of the window but they still feel they can command a credible fee given Vieira's performances in Germany last season.

At the start of the summer, the Gunners were asking for around £15m to agree to a sale but they do not want to lose the player on a free transfer in 2027 given they paid an initial £29.9m to land him from Porto.

Winger Reiss Nelson can also depart. Marseille had reportedly made an offer but it doesn't look like Nelson will be moving to the Velodrome. West Ham have also been in discussions over a deal for the attacker, who spent last season on loan at Brentford.

Napoli want Gabriel Jesus and look set to firm up their interest now they have sold Romelu Lukaku to Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

Young goalkeeper Tommy Setford is available for loan with Las Palmas and QPR among a number of sides to have made enquiries at various different stages of the window.

Galatasaray have bid for Gabriel Martinelli but their £38.5m offer still falls short of Arsenal's valuation. The Turkish Super Lig winners also hold an interest in young attacking midfielder Ethan Nwaneri. He has interest from the Premier League, Bundesliga and Serie A, also.
