Liverpool could lose another star on a free next summer to European Giants
Liverpool could be at risk of losing another player to a fellow European Giant on a free next summer.
Juventus were linked to Alisson Becker earlier in the window but according to Empire of the Kop, could be willing to hold off for a year and try to tempt the Brazilian number one on a free at the end of his contract.
They would instead try to sign Zion Suzuki on loan from Parma for a season.
The deal would be another blow to the Reds, who over the last two seasons have lost Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ibrahima Konate to Real Madrid, after both decided not to extend their contracts with the club. Liverpool also lost Mohamed Salah without collecting a transfer fee after agreeing to end his contract for free a year early.
Alisson’s Liverpool career
The signing of Alisson Becker seemed like a huge turning point in Liverpool’s trajectory under Jurgen Klopp. The 2017/18 season finished in heartbreak in Kyiv, losing to Real Madrid in the Champions League final, with at least two Loris Karius blunders being the major difference between the sides.
Liverpool went out that summer and without doubt spent big on Alisson. At the time he was the most expensive goalkeeper in Premier League history, but Chelsea soon broke that record when they signed Kepa.
Liverpool would go on to win the Champions League the next season, with Alisson at the centre of their defensive record. The following season they would go on to win the Premier League at record speed. One of Alisson’s most famous Liverpool memories is the goal that he scored in the final play against West Brom.
