Why Liverpool are quietly confident of signing Bradley Barcola from PSG

Another day, another update on Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola from PSG.

The Reds remain locked in talks to sign the French international, who didn’t play a single minute for PSG during their UEFA Super Cup clash vs Aston Villa.

PSG want nearly £145m for Barcola and Liverpool aren’t willing to go quite as high, due to which the transfer has reached a bit of a standstill.

But now, investigative journalist Romain Molina has revealed an interesting detail from the transfer that could work in Liverpool’s favour.

Bradley Barcola’s agent holds the key for Liverpool

Molina says Barcola’s agent Moussa Sissoko has a really good relationship with PSG’s top brass. Over the years, Sissoko has worked quite well in everyone’s best interests, be it his clients or PSG.

Molina added that Barcola has agreed personal terms with Liverpool and wants the transfer. And his influential agent always wants the best for his clients, due to which the Reds are confident they will be able to get the deal done in due time.

He wrote on X: “A (very) important factor in the PSG/Liverpool negotiations for Barcola (who already has an agreement with the Reds): his agent, Moussa Sissoko, his (very good) relations with Doha, and the (growing) number of players he manages at PSG

“In just a few years, he has become one of the most influential intermediaries in world football and misses very few deals.”

Liverpool are biding their time in the hope that PSG soften their stance and they are doing it for good reason.

However, if the transfer somehow doesn’t materialise, they will have wasted an entire summer and it will be too late to turn to alternatives.
