**Jaden Maghoma has added another individual honour to his growing Arsenal reputation after winning the Golden Boot at the Shanghai Future Stars Cup, despite a typhoon preventing the Under-17 final from being played.**
Arsenal’s youngsters had progressed through the tournament in China and were due to face China Under-17s in the final.
Dangerous weather conditions ultimately forced organisers to cancel the game, with Arsenal and their opponents subsequently named joint winners of the competition.
According to [SunSport](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/40054617/arsenal-news-community-shield-referee-retire/), Maghoma finished the tournament with **four goals**, enough to secure the Golden Boot.
The unusual ending should not overshadow another impressive tournament for one of Hale End’s emerging attackers.
Maghoma is only 15 but has already played above his age group at Arsenal. Academy specialist Jeorge Bird has previously described him as a quick and skilful forward who has made significant progress, while the teenager has already appeared for Arsenal’s Under-19s in the UEFA Youth League.
This is also not his first successful trip to China in 2026.
Maghoma captained Arsenal’s Under-15 side during the Premier League NEXTGEN Cup in Beijing earlier this year, scoring twice against Aston Villa before helping the Gunners win the tournament. He was subsequently recognised as its best player.
Arsenal’s academy continues to produce young players capable of moving quickly through the age groups.

Maghoma remains some distance from Mikel Arteta’s senior squad, but two standout tournaments in the space of four months provide further evidence that his development is moving quickly.
For Arsenal, the typhoon may have denied their youngsters the opportunity to win the final outright.
Maghoma still returns from China with another trophy for the individual collection and a reputation that continues to grow.
