Everton have confirmed the club's 2026-27 squad numbers for the upcoming campaign.
Jarrad Branthwaite and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have both taken new numbers, with the former designated Number 4, and Dewsbury-Hall swapping 22 for the Number 8. New signing Brennan Johnson has taken Dewsbury-Hall's former shirt, a number he previously wore at former club Tottenham Hotspur.
Fellow arrivals Christian Norgaard and Hayden Hackney will wear 23 and 30, respectively. As things stand, Everton will enter the season with no occupants for Numbers 3, 7, or 14, with the hope that those shirts can be filled by new signings before the transfer window deadline at 11 pm (BST) on Tuesday, 1 September.
The club have confirmed that any fans who purchased a 2026-27 shirt featuring a player who has since changed their squad number can exchange their shirt without charge.

Bit of a Luddite and not a fan of “squad” numbers. Just give them a shirt in blue and white, no adverts.
If, for whatever reason, we have to put numbers on their backs, then so be it: the day before, 1 to 11, subs whatever.
Still, what do I know, since footy only started with the advent of the Premier League.

Aren't we allowed to have a squad of 25 so maybe a new right back to be added, subject to Moyes and "Elite recruitment team" approval so don't hold your breath.

Les, @3
Graham ain't getting a game then?
Probably not... Although Moyes has the freedom to select for the first team any U21 (or even U18) players who are not on the above list. The ones we've seen during pre-season will likely keep their existing numbers from last season:
48 - William Tamen
50 - George Pickford
52 - Douglass Lukjanciks
55 - George Finney
58 - Braiden Graham
73 - Eli Campbell
76 - Malik Olayiwola
80 - Joel Catesby
81 - Harvey Foster
These numbers rarely get confirmed by the club but they have been worn pretty consistently when they play EFL Trophy or National League Cup games.
