New Under-18s Lead Coach Lauris Coggin says it is a privilege to be steering the young Blues in 2026/27.
Coggin made the shift from Elite Development Squad Assistant Coach to the Lead Coach of our Under-18s following Oliver Reiss’ progression to Lead Coach of the EDS.
It means Coggin has had a year adjusting to life in Manchester after he called time on his 10-year stint in West Ham’s Academy.
And now he is ready to take on the Under-18 Premier League North in what is a proud moment for the 37-year-old.
“I’m really proud to be here,” began Coggin in his first interview with the Club.

“Working with a fantastic group of players, staff and an incredible club.
“So I’m really privileged, it’s been a really exciting start to pre-season. Five, six weeks of work to get to know the players, the staff so [we are] ready to go.
“We have got two really exciting games to start the league season so I think when we saw the fixtures get released, there was a different sense [to pre-season]. It felt a little bit more real.
“So the work that we’ve done has enabled us to feel ready, excited and ready to go.
“The work we’ve done over the last five or six weeks we are sure is going to come to fruition in the next couple of games.”
