NFL Analyst Suffers Medical Emergency On Live Air, Fans Immediately React

As the NFL season approaches, the preseason continued Thursday night. There is a growing news cycle and buzz surrounding the NFL, with media coverage of the league gaining traction quickly.

On Friday, one media outlet experienced a scare. Mike Florio was hosting a Pro Football Talk broadcast with Michael Holley when Holley fainted due to a medical issue.

It was a thankfully non-life-threatening incident. It has been confirmed by multiple sources that Holley experienced just a minor episode and is recovering well despite the frightening scenes. Following the incident, Florio explained what had happened, providing viewers with some relief.

“Michael was in the studio at his home,” Florio said via Awful Announcing. “It’s very warm in there. He hadn’t had anything to eat or drink before the show. He became overheated during the show and passed out. I didn’t notice until he slumped in his seat, because I was looking at the camera, not the monitor. We went to break right away to try to get him assistance, if he needed it. Fortunately, he recovered quickly and is fine.”

In the days leading up to the regular season, Michael Holley has become a familiar face with Pro Football Talk alongside Florio.

It was understandable that viewers were caught off guard by the incident, especially since it occurred live on air. In order to ensure Holley received the assistance he needed, Florio and the production team quickly went to a commercial break.

Holley recovered quickly from the incident, which appears to have been relatively minor.

With the NFL season approaching, the media will continue to talk endlessly about teams, players, and storylines. Fans value those conversations, but Friday’s incident reminded them that the people providing the coverage can suffer unexpected health scares.
