Jack Rudoni is set to return to action having recovered from surgery on a long-standing shoulder injury towards the end of last season.
The creative midfielder has not been involved in pre-season but is ready to return to training, step up his preparation and will hopefully not miss too many games.
Whether he is ready in time to face Arsenal next week is unlikely, but Coventry City boss Frank Lampard was upbeat: "Rudi is coming along pretty well, he has worked hard. He has had a difficult injury to come back from, making sure we get him right is important but he's very, very close now and that's great news for us."
Ephron Mason-Clark was not involved in the 2-0 win over AS Monaco, with Lampard saying he is nursing a hamstring stain: "He has had a small injury, we played a game at Leicester, a tiny little reaction in his hamstring which we are being careful with. We are hoping he is fit to train this week and will be available next week."
However, the Sky Blues boss was far less effusive when it comes to Haji Wright who has been missing for all of pre-season and said: "He has got a quad injury which we are investigating so I will tell you more when we know exactly what it is."
